The educational campus is a joint initiative by the municipality of Eemsdelta, the Eemsdelta Secondary Education Foundation (Stichting Voortgezet Onderwijs Eemsdelta) and Noorderpoort. De Unie Architects, Felixx Landscape Architects and Planners, Innax and Alferink van Schieveen were responsible for the design of the Eemsdelta Campus Groningen. Each school type, from academic to vocational and practical secondary education, has its own building with its own entrance. There are also three shared buildings: Art and Science, the workshop for technical courses and the sports complex. The buildings are connected by a central shared heart.
A circular roofing system was used for the Eemsdelta project. This consists of flute fill insulation, an Alutrix vapour barrier, 140 mm of PIR insulation and EPDM installed using the Rhinobond induction system.
The Rhinobond system bonds the roofing material to the fixing plates using induction, which allows the membrane to be removed and reused later.
